‘Tennis For Free’ was established in 2004 to address the barriers for participation in tennis and to bring the benefits of playing tennis and becoming actively engaged in sport to as many young people and families as possible.
‘Tennis For Free’ works in partnership with local schools, tennis clubs and local authorities throughout the UK, providing free access to community tennis courts, free coach-led group tennis sessions and free use of equipment.
How the ‘Tennis For Free’ sessions are delivered
‘Tennis For Free’ sessions run at participating public facilities and welcome all members of the local community. There’s something for everyone and the sessions are split into sub-groups to accommodate different standards.
The session is delivered by local coaches and coaching assistants who will deliver fun drills and games in the session. The sessions are suitable for 12 years old and above and all tennis equipment is provided.
