"I'm sure everyone had a good time and with a range of events taking place throughout the summer there's plenty of fun still to come."

Tournament Director Tom Wilson said: "The tournament has been a great success, with over 120 teams competing this year.

"We've been hugely impressed, both with the local young talent as well as the support and enthusiasm of the travelling teams from in and around the UK and as far away as Germany.

"I'd like to thank all those involved in the tournament, from team managers, coaches and referees to parents, volunteers and most of all to the young people who have participated in the event."

Supported once again by Newcastle United Football Club and Alan Shearer, the tournament has featured many of today's professionals throughout its history, including Alan Shearer, Michael Carrick and Wes Brown.
