Widening Horizons 4 Sport activities provide young people with the opportunity to take part in a range of exciting activities including SHOKK Dance mats, arts and crafts, dodgeball and the all new Dance mania. The camps will be available at locations across the borough.

Tuesday 14 February - ‘Go for Gold’ athletics: 9:30am-12:30 (6 to 14) £3.50
This brand new event provides a fun and friendly introduction to competitive athletics. It is inclusive with every athlete contributing to their team’s score. Each athlete will take part in a running, sprinting, throwing and jumping events under the guidance of qualified coaches.
Each team will be representing one of the Olympic countries in a bid to ‘Go for Gold’ and everyone will receive a certificate for taking part. Please bring plenty to drink and
wear suitable indoor footwear.

Hadrian Leisure Centre, St Peter’s Road, NE28 7LQ

Thursday 16 February - Bikeability: 9am-3pm (8 to 12) £1
Bikeability is ‘cycling proficiency’ for the 21st Century, designed to give young people the skills and confidence to ride their bikes on today’s roads. Young people will be taught by fully qualified instructors, gaining a medal and certificate on successful completion. Young people must bring a bike (in full working order) and a cycle helmet. Please wear warm clothing, bring a waterproof and plenty to drink.

Places are strictly limited, please book in advance by contacting Hadrian Leisure Centre on
(0191) 643 2025. Please note: This session could be cancelled at short notice if weather is bad.


Wallsend Boys and Girls Club, Station Road, NE28 8EN

Monday 13 February to Friday 17 February - Multi-Sports: 10am - 3pm (5 to 15) £10 per day or £45 for 5 days (sibling discount available!)
(Earliest drop-off, 9.30am; latest pick-up, 3.30pm). Wallsend Boys & Girls Club is dedicated to providing an action-packed programme of sports, games and activities
for 5 to 15 year-olds, of all abilities. Children can learn new skills, develop self-confidence, make new friends and – best of all – have fun during the holidays! Children need to bring a packed lunch, soft drink and sports/appropriate clothing. A tuck shop is available on site.
